Opening an Inventor DWG in AutoCAD - Annotations missing

Not sure if this should be posted in the AutoCAD or Inventor side of the discussion group.

I have a coworker who opens an Inventor 2014 (Inventor .dwg) drawing in AutoCAD Mech 2014 and only the views show.   No annotations, titleblock, or border.   If I open the same drawing in my AutoCAD Mech 2014, the drawing appears correct.   Both have service pack 1 applied to Inventor and AutoCAD 2014...   Any thoughts?

Hi!

Already tried to export to "Autocad DWG", instead of "Inventor DWG" ?

Yeah I had already done that.   So when you do export it as an AutoCAD drawing, the drawing appears correctly in AutoCAD.

What dose the layer options show for the layers that the border etc in yours and his are set to be on?

I suspect that may be his may turned off of frozen in the saved default template and need to be turned on or un-frozen and the template resaved to keep them on.

Hi,

we have the same problem here, and in addition to that, when we export to AutoCAD DWG, we lose all the annotations which were created through property stamps of the model , like material, part numbers etc, etc. please Help.

Thanks

Not sure if you are using Factory Design Suite 2014, but this hotfix resolved the issue: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=22030626&linkID=15639656

Hi Lancasterm,

Did you get a resolve on this.

I have had export problems but only on one specific Inventor DWG.

It occurs when I choose to export my Invetor DWG as an AutoCAD DWG.

The Border & Title Block have disappeared when I open in Mechanical.

It must be in the drawing somewhere but everything seems to be set the same for all my drawings.

So why just this one...???

If you can point me in any place to go looking I would really appreciate your help.

Cheers!

Your options look OK. Maybe try posting the files here, see if we get the same issue?

Hi Mike,

I tried posting but not sure if too big.

I stuck a Pack n Go file in the cloud.

Cheers!

Steve.
