Oldversion drawing change when I modify part.

When I modify a part and save it the old version of the part as you know
moves to the map ' OLDVERSION' and been saved there. I can even open it and
see it.

When I even open the connecting drawing it modifies and an old version been
saved in 'OLDVERSION'.

My problem is when I wanne to see the old version of the drawing. When I
attend to open it first I get a massage if I wanne to open the old or
current version. No matter which one I choose the old version modifies
automatically to the new one. How can I avoid this??? I wanne to see still
the old version of the drawing but it seems impossible.

The problem is that you are trying to look at an old version of the IDW
which is looking at the new part. So of course it is going to change. The
only way to see the true original is to restore the older version of the
part or open a save to a different folder. Then open the old version and
save it to the folder. Now open the saved IDW in the folder.

What ever you set the old version number of versions to keep, it will soon
be a newer old version every time you save!
Isn't defer updates available in IV 6.0?
You really need to save this drawing you want to keep in a separate folder
and defer updates to it.
Better still achieve via PDF writer, and if you want to keep the model as
well as drawing copy with a different name and put somewhere safe.
The last thing you want is an old drawing finding a newer part.
