I would like to turn off the "Old Version" feature... I have never had to
refer back to it and all it does it take up extra space and it kills the
file backup system here at work.
This is specified in your project file under "Versions to keep" Set it to 0. It
will, however, still create an "Old Versions" folder.

Depending on your back-up software you should also be able to configure the
back-up to ignore the directories. you never know when you might hit save
one too many times, though most users don't think that is possible 🙂

If you use Semi-isolated mode and are thinking of getting rid of Old
Versions, you're playing with fire! If you accidentally delete the
checked-out drawing, the place holder file is useless and just there to
taunt you. (A sick joke, no doubt!) You can get back most of your model
using an Old Version.
Just my opinion though. I know different people have different needs.
