I'm trying to get a rib onto the cylindrical outter portion of this part, going up to the mating face. (See pic)
The problem I'm having is that I can't trim it in any way that looks like the original, the angle of the cylindrical portion, as well as the fillet on it are causing me problems.
I've tried adding it with a revolve, and extruding to trim, and a few other things, No idea if the rib command would even work for this, I've never used it.
On the part that I'm trying to reproduce, the angle on the rib blends up from the angle on the cylindrical portion, to having a similar angle, but towards the wing, or whatever you'd call the mounts.
Thought I was done, and had a look again and realised I forgot all about this stupid rib. Earlier in the model it might not have been so difficult to add, but at this point trying to change stuff from earlier just makes it explode.
Anyway, hope that makes sense.

Before I attempt to solve the inside face draft - is something like attached what you are after?
What the... Would not have thought to look at using a coil.

Surfaces would be very confusing, would require me to have actually been trained how to use this software, instead of bumbling my way through it for a few years.

I noticed that many of your sketches are not fully constrained.
The attached file includes the inside drafted face.
You can increase or decrease the leg of the "rib" by changing the Pitch and Rev of the Coil.
Frankly, I think I would start over from scratch and do it right, now that you understand the geometry.
Yea, I figured that would come up.
They started out that way, but I had some issues along the way and had to break a lot of the links to get features to work again.
I won't pretend that I understand how you did that, but I appreciate the help.

I figured out the surface coil (sneaky, by the way)
But I can't get the extrusion to accept it as a To face.
I tried oversizing the surface, but that didn't work, and you didn't have to, so I have no idea whats going wrong.
Beyond that, I've never seen a sculpt tool, or a way to offset a surface. So I don't really know how to follow the history tree. You mentioned a face draft, so I figured I'd look there, if I could ever get this to go.

Attach the file here that does not work.
(this might be easier if we go one step at a time - forget the Offset surface and Sculpt for now)
In hindsight I should have made a casting blank, and added machining afterwards.
But only I would care, since we would never cast anything anyway.
You had two contours selected in your sketch.
Edit the Extrusion
Make the Profile selection tool active
Hold the Ctrl key
Click in the are shown below to unselect that area of the profile.
Click OK
To avoid this problem in the future - I would change everything that is not my intended profile boundary to Construction line type.
