not enough memory in stress Analysis

inventor 2012

64 bit machine

12gig ram

and it says I don't have enough memory!

How can this be? Its not that complicated of an assembly. I have done bigger.

I excluded all the part I'm not using and they are all basic plate and tube parts.

There are less than 20 parts in the assembly

Hi lester,

This can happen with solid tetrahedral elements if the bodies being meshed are very large and thin.  We could be in the millions of elements in just one component.

Have you tried taking advantage of symmetry?  It may be possible to use 1/4 of the assembly, which will use 1/4 of the computing resources.

If this still doesn't help, you are welcome to post the assembly (or email it to me directly) if you'd like us to take a closer look.

Best regards, -Hugh

Can physical memory limits be assiste by expanding the page file?
