non linear solution

I am almost sure this is not possible in AI but I will ask it anyway:

is it possible to assign value of paramiter as a result of non linear equation?

for example I would need parameter x to meet the equatio

cos^2x+Ax+C=0

where A and C can be other fixed parameters.

Regards,

Cris

Look in Help>Index >functions, expressions> functions

help....> function

and what I should have found there? for me it is just a list of avialable functions to eveluate to get result as parameter value or peace of equation for parameter value.

Nothing about equation solving. Or am I missing something?

It will work.. except you need to change A and C to something else.. Those characters are already reserved by Inventor and cannot be used in equations.

Hi,

please do not buther to solve this particular exumple. My is little more complicated. Also A and C are ofcourse dependent on other fixed but possibul to define parametres.

I hade changed aproach and instead of finding precise theoretical solution I had defined geometrical solution that works perfectly.

Regards,

Cris
