Newbie Rev Control Question

Been using Inventor for over a year now. I haven't used Vault yet.
Single user. My question is on Rev Control of Models and Drwaings.

I currently do a save as to the next rev level when I go to make
changes to an assembly and then do the same thing to parts of that
assembly that I change and then use the replace command.

Does Vault do this automaticly? or something like this? This isn't
that hard to do I just have to remember to do it. The real pain is
drawings I don't see a way to replace the model in a drawing.
So I now have to recreate all the views and details. Is there a easy
way to do this. I haven't had time to goto the classes for IV so I
figured I ask here.

Thanks for any help and if you need more info let me know.

I'm finally asking this question because I'm on a project thats has
had major changes to it 5 times.

I would do it the opposite way.

Say you have part 1.ipt (which is at rev A.) Now a change has occured.
I would open part 1.ipt and do a saveas and call it part 1 rev a.ipt then make your change to part 1.ipt (leaving part 1 rev a.ipt as your fall back) Now you know your current part is always the one without the revision letter

Then your whole problem is solved.
Now your always working/constraining,etc.. the same part so a replace all is never needed.

We also use PDF's to keep old revisions of drawings. When a drawing is released I immediately print to pdf and save it with its rev number in the filename. So anytime I need to see an old rev's drawing I just go open the pdf. I do NOT save revisions of idw files only the pdf.
