newbie question: cut part A out of part B

Please see attachment. I cannot make the cuts in this bifurcated pipe.

This is is a problem that I run in quite often and I don't know the right method to handle this issue.

Individual parts build my assembly. The parts are constraint to eachother. Somewhere along the design process I want to create a part that needs the geometry of another part as base for a feature. Most of the time I can edit the part in the assembly, start a new sketch and use 'project geometry'.
As you can see, that method can not be used in this case.

'make component', 'derive', etc: where is the sollution?

The parts can be downloaded from: http://www.rschepers.com/data/broekstuk.zip

Can you help me?
rene

Help = Copy Object. Allows you to copy faces from one part into another.

Thank you, this looks very good. Powerful command that I didn't knew,

Can you give me a second helping hand by telling me how to make the extruded cut? I've tried the split tool, extrusion, revolve and lofted flange.

Thanks,
rene
