Hello,
Our company is planning to buy new workstations Dell Precision T1700 (http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/precision-t1700-workstation/pd) and we have question about compatibility with Inventor 2009: Will there be issues with drivers or directx etc. that don´t match with Inventor 2009 ?
Regards
Welcome to the forum.
I have to ask. If you are getting brand new systems, why are you wanting to go backwards and find out compatibility for old technology?
If this solved your issue please mark this posting "Accept as Solution".
Or if you like something that was said and it was helpful, Kudos are appreciated. Thanks!!!!
NO..You will have problems.. I'd suspect its going to come with Win7 or WIn8.. As such 2009 is NOT supported.

You cannot expect 5 year old software to be compliant with new operating systems.
Actually I am running Inventor 2009 in win7 without problems. Few years ago I had problem with new directx that crashed Inventor 2009, then I had chance to switch back to older directx version. With new workstations I problably don´t have this easy solution.
Why we don´t rush to change Inventor to latest version, is because 2009 still meets our company demands and new 3 licences to buy is quite expensive.

Is that 32-bit or is it 64-bit?
I think you are better off trying to refurbish some old machines than trying to go to new machines.
