Yeah sounds like a lot of hassle though. Fact is if
you need a solid reliable system for day to day running Inventor (esp if its
your bread and butter) then why load your system up with other non-work
garbage?
So maybe you like to download music or play games
(just for example) but should that be allowed to jepordize your work
stability. IMO no. I have a comp at home that is loaded up with all that stuff
and my work machine stays lean and mean and have never had many problems with
INV6 or any other release.
Also I reload the OS and INV etc fresh from scratch
at least every 12 months (one day I will get around to making a HDD image) just
to give it a good "flush out". The only problem with this is the F$&^$
CDilla nightmare for us untrustworthy peasants outside the USA, but thats
another fight for another day...

Since, theoretically, Inventor would run best on a clean system, what about
setting up a PC with a dual boot. One boot that just loads Inventor, Office and
IE into the regestry, and another boot for any other apps? Hard drives are
pretty big now-adays.
