We're getting new ones soon as well, and not soon enough.  IT has the specs though so I can't post a cool list of all the new toys.  😞

All we're waiting for is the money approval.  They're about half the cost of our last ones, so that should be no problem.

I read it as the Kool-Aid man when he busts through the wall...
OH YEAH!

They just called and said the thermaltake CPU cooler wouldn't fit into the case I picked so I went to a CoolIt ECO-II 240 liquid cooling setup..

oh and he said they will shoot for 4.7 to 4.9Ghz overclocked with that setup..

Man I wish I worked someone that would give us engineers good computers. I'm stuck with an i5 @ 3.2Ghz, Quadro 2000D, and 16GB of ram. Not to mention our server runs Win2003 and has hardware about that old also, server causes lots of lag in Inventor some times.

I also like the "OH YEAH!" being the Kool-Aid mans voice since I haven't seen Despicable Me.

Had a similar build problem, the EVGA motherboards are now placing the memory board sockets on both sides of the CPU. With the taller vent fins on the chips it's tougher to get the either the large Noctura CPU cooling tower to fit. I still have a hard time with liquid cooling, the though of liquid inside my computer case will cause me to consume other liquids. Nice spec's though. It should rock and roll nicely for Inventor and other applications. The unit I'm is only coming up to it's first birthday, so I still have about another year on it before it gets moved out.

I have had the same computer as when I started.  While it is powerful (Dell Precision T7500) it was used by someone else prior to me starting.  I have placed a work to have it looked at because it was making some very loud noises.  When the IT person came over they blew it out and placed an order in for a new PC for me.  So far it has fallen on deaf ears.  That was about 2 months ago.  Smiley Sad  The wait is on.  Make be I should try what that guy did in the computer when everyone else had new palm pads and he had an old laptop.  Conveniently spill the coffee.  Smiley LOL

The spilled coffee works, but if you go with over-prof alcohol, you get the added benefit of flames for go with the sparks.

That might be true, but I stand a better chance getting coffee through the company doors then alcohol.
