Need to import surfaces from old MDT file.

All I can get is 3d lines or ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY.  Since the newer versions of IV did away w/ MDT I don't have any way of converting them.  Does anyone know what I can do.?

But I don't want to be attached to another on an inclined plane wrapped around a helical axis.

Have you tried exporting the MDT model to a STEP file and then importing the STEP file into Inventor?  Since you appear to only be concerned about geometry this should work.

I hope this helps.

Hi jpblower,

I couldn't determine if you had access to MDT currently and couldn't get the results you wanted, or if you currently don't have MDT but wish you did so that you could try to use it to output your data. If the latter is the case, this link might be of interest:

Your ability to obtain and install MDT from the link might depend on the version of Inventor you have.

 I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

If I can get a step (iges, sat, dxf, 3ds, et al)  file to work it comes in as 3d lines.  The issue now becomes getting IT to retrieve an old copy of MDT.

Thanks.
