have two blocks that I want to show a weld bead one. They are 32" long and I
wanted 4" welds every 8". I can get the skip weld into the model, however I do
not see any way of reverseing the direction of the arrows or offsetting the
start of the welds from the edge. We would like to offset the entire weld 2"
to show it evened up on both sides... any help would be
great..????

Using work planes should do what he wants.
But, for my own edification, why use the split tool? I usually just pick
the face I want the work plane parallel to, drag it in the direction of the
offset, and type the exact distance I want.
