Need help with loft.

Posted to CF: CA0087-003a.ipt

I can't seem to finish the loft (a T section filled in with a three point arc tangent to the web surface), and I also have a couple of artifacts (thin sections) appearing that I can't seem to eliminate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is that a R6 file? If it's R5, you wouldn't be
able to open an R6 file that someone might get working.

Looks like Jeff knocked it out for ya. I opened
it earlier and got some error about R5 (maybe because I didn't extract it to
disk). Anyway check out CF; there should be a file for ya.

Hi, Sean.

Don't know if you can work it into the grand plan or if it's even the shape
you need, but see CF.

The part is no good the way it is. There's a bad spot in the surface near the
area transitioning the fillet I added. There may be a way to clean it up, but
doing this sort of stuff in IV is a bit too much like self abuse. 8^(

Sorry can't offer more....

PS I got side tracked before getting to this and after taking another look
put another post in CF. It's a base part, but shows a way of splitting the
sides up that may work a little better. You might be able to build the curve
using construction surface intersections. It may be worth a try lofting the
surfaces, stitching them and using them for an extrude cut termination face.
If you try that, you might model half the part and derive / combine to get the
other half.

You might also make interim checks on whatever output you will want (drawings
and exports).

Good luck with it.
