Need help with creating a Part

Ok. Not sure how to do this. It is plastic (poly-pro), characteristics of
pipe (cylinder with a wall thickness) and has a punch thru pattern of
squares. It is a guard for our product, length differs. How do I get the
pattern of punch outs? Am I making sense?

Why not model the cylinder and use a transparent texture (like the expanded
metal) to simulate the mesh.

Or do you need to have all of those holes as features?

Sean, enlighten me almighty texture wizard. I have looked under colors and
materials and I cannot find the expanded metal selection. I have a guard to
make where this would fit just perfect. Please elaborate.

Thanks

John

John,

This is what a texture can do for you.

I will post the part and with the texture in iCF.

Yeah, I see that now Kent. I wasn't selecting the 'choose' button and
therefore wasn't seeing the actual textures to apply. I must've watched a
nuclear detenation from point blank range since I had temporary blindness
there.

I posted an example of an expanded metal guard to IVCF that I created. I
think that it turned out quite well.

Very nice - try turning off the Edge Display under Active in the
AppOpts-Display Tab. Looks even better then.
