Need help filling a weld in a weldment.

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a weldment for a bearing and have a question about the weld in the picture attached. How do I get the bevel weld on one side of the radial lip to fill the way I need it? If I select "Radial Fill", I can't select a fill direction. If I select a fill direction, I can't get the weld to fill radially (unless I create three different welds).

Any tips/suggestions?

Can you attach the assembly here?  (I guess I could make up a quick dummy assembly - but I am feeling lazy today.)

Can you use the Split (Face) command to isolate the face you want welded?

Well, now it looks like I wasn't so lazy after all and not alone on that count.

Hi

The only way is to split face, create construction plane and use split feature.

Umm... Yes. Yes I certainly can. Smiley Embarassed This is only the third model I have done where I needed to show the actual welds and I'm a little embarrassed I didn't think of that.

Thank you JD (and Yannick) for the (now obvious) suggestion. Please enjoy the rest of your weekend and tell your bosses I said you get a raise.
