Move a box tangent along a path?

Hi,

I have a roller pin which follows a certain path using transitional constrain in an assembly. A box is attached to the roller pin which move along with it. My problem is that I want one face of the box to be tangent to the path which the roller pin is following so that the box moves according when it is on the curve. I have attached the file with the message. It is little confusing to explain so check out the attached files. I tried searching in the forum and couldn't see a post. Let me know if this is possible in inventor or not?

Thanks,

Ishan

You could add a second cylinder (I would do as surface body) to keep the alignment.

If you have Inventor Professional with Dynamic Simulation - you can probably find easier control with DS Joints.

I am confused on how to do surface body to keep box tangent to path. By adding cylinder do you mean to box or something else? Also, I can't make cylinder tangent to the whole path because inventor doesn't allow to select whole path when using tangent constraint. If possible, can you explain briefly. I have Dynamic Simulation in add-ins so let me know if you know how to do it that way. I will go ahead and explore the dynamic simulation.

Thanks,

Ishan
