Mouse vs Space Ball

I am looking to buy a new mouse or a space ball to use at work with Inventor any recommendations?

look for a 3D motion controler. Try: www.3DConnexion.com

3D Connexion is pretty much the standard.

Don't muck around. Go with a 3DConnexion unit. You'll never regret it!

There's another company worth looking at too, called SpaceControl.  I've played around a little with their product, and it seems to work pretty well, although it's both cheaper and less comfortable than the 3DConnexion SpacePilot.  You might find them to be useful.

(That said, I've got a SpacePilot Pro at the office and a 2006-vintage SpacePilot at home, and absolutely love them.  After the first 3 days of using my SpacePilot when I bought it as an off-lease unit from a recycler ... I seriously am lost without it.  Can't do a thing in Inventor without my 3D controller!!!)

Are you thinking specifically of a 3D controller?  A mouse is a different "animal" entirely, although I know that some people and companies now refer to a 3D mouse.  But you need a normal cursor controller (mouse, trackball, joystick, etc.) along with a 3D controller.  I couldn't tell from your post whether you are aware of the difference.
