Mirror a part.

How do I mirror a part, so I can save it as a new part?

If you don't want it to update when the original does, don't forget to RMB (on
part name) and break link!

You don't have to bring the part into an assy. Open a new part file, click on the derrived component button and insert the part file. Check the mirror button in the derrived component dialog box. If you don't want a relasionship between the 2 mirrored parts do as Dave suggested to break the link.

Oh, and despite what that responce might have been hinting at, you can not
mirror an assembly.

RMB => Finish Sketch to get out of sketch mode. The derrived component button is at the features level in the panel bar.
