Do you have some calipers that you could use to grab some basic dimensions?
The Machinery's handbook has the geometry parameters - I have set them up in an Excel spreadsheet, but I need some basic information.

Can you post a picture of the actual part?  (I was thinking a chain sprocket like found on a bicycle - is that correct?)

Have you tried the Roller Chain generator? Since it creates parts, you need an assembly file open to access the generator.

Go to Design Tab>Power Transmission group, click on the V-Belts dropdown and select Roller Chains. It can create both Inch and Metric sprockets.

Thanks Igor,

i tried the roller chain generator, but it would not let me add the info i had. i saw that there was a profile sketch of the tooth, is that done  by the generator. Can you show me a screen shot of the set up in the genarator.

I will make the parts to your model, but i would like to find out how to use the generator.

Hi Chris,

Here are the two screen shots. The only info you need to put into the DB is amount of teeth. And you have to select the appropriate chain too. That info controls the rest of the data in the DB automatically.

Igor.
