Mesh Element Size Issue

For some reason some of my bolts in my assembly have a ridiculously small element size. It makes the simulation not work due to memory problems. Identical parts in symmetrical locations are not like this so I have no idea what to do.

One of the first things I suppress before transferring in FEA is fasteners. Much easier to apply a Split-Face to the area equal to the washer/bolt/nut and apply a force load to equal the force of the fastener at required torque.
