Materials Library export/import

I would like to be able to export the complete materials library into for instance Excel and edit and add new materials and then import the whole thing into Inventor again

How do I do that?

peterbrodt,

Try this:

1) Go to the Format pull-down-->Styles Editor...
2) Click on the material node in the left-most pane
3) Shift-select all the materials in the Material Style pane
4) RMB-->Export (give it a name too)
5) Open it in Excel and edit it
6) Use the Import button in the Styles editor dialog to bring it back into
Inventor

I hope this helped.

Hi:

I am looking for a solution to this as well.  The methodology described does not appear to be an option in 2014; is there a similar process defined somewhere?  I want to export our custom materials library to an Excel spreadsheet to check and update properties, then import back into the same (or different, new, if necessary) library.  Any ideas?

Regards,

Rob
