manipulate views

i would like to know if you can manipulate views in idw files

i am doing a casting drawing which i can create and dimesnions np.

now i would like to make a maching drawing from that same model.

i go back to ipt file and create a view and call it machining .which i make current . i create my sketch and extrude my .060 machining

now when i go back to my casting idw. i show the machining part of it. which is not what i want.

can a operation be suppressed by a niew. master view that machining extrusion be suppressed. machining view unsuppressed?

what am i missing?

The best way to do this is to start a new part file and Derive Component the original into the new.
