Making parts of an assembly invisible in some idw views : Not working in 2012.

Because of the disparity in size of some components I need to make parts of an assembly invisible.

The last time I did this was last Monday in IV2011. Tuesday I loaded IV2012. I have drawn the same parts in 2012 and now I cannot do it. "Visibility" is grayed out in the browser.

Why is this? Bug or setting?

See attached.. Uncheck it if you want to be able to control visibility in the IDW.. Check it if you want visibility to be controlled via a design view rep in the assembly.. Been this way since 2009 I believe.
