Making Ifeatures

Hi,

i can make simple iFeatures but i want to made more dynamic ones. I have attached one that i downloaded from the internet. On this iFeature, you can select a face and pick start / end points to position the feature.

How do you do that because i cant find a way 🙂

Help greatly appreciated and i will share the iFeatures on here 🙂 they are for woodwork rebating & joints

Thanks

Nigel

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. your tutorial doesnt cover the elements like selecting a face, picking points during insertion.

ive looked on the help files but nothing is covered. the attachment that i included if you look at at, you can select a face, edge & corner points during insertion. Thats what im trying to achieve

thanks

Hi.

You have to create some auxiliary geometry (plane, work point, axis) to make the sketch in the proper location. You need to pick geometry to construct these auxiliary geometry (faces, edges, vertexs )

When you extract the iFeature you will need to import also these auxiliary elements (planes, axis , points)

Later, when you will place the ifeature, you will be ask to choose the faces. vertexes and axes to create the auxiliary elements, and that's it...

If you edit the *.ide file, you have a text file that can give you some more clues.

Regards.
