Solved! Go to Solution.
The .iam file is only how the parts go together, you will have to include the .ipt files as well (look up "Pack and Go")
Also, many students have asked about a similar problem in the past (Is this some sort of train?) you could probably get all the answers if you just spend some time searching this forum.
Hello
I search on the forum and i not find a solution for my problem. There is information about line ,about curve, but there is no information about line and curve association.
Somebody can help me ??
there is files here ...
There is a similar problem in this book.
Is this the project you are doing?

Those are just from searching "train"
You could also try "miniature train" or "miniature train project" or "train track"
and also "PLTW" or "Project Lead the Way"
No not help me.
I no make a train but an escalator.
I know is a elementary question but since 2 days i not find the solution.
I almost finish my project but i have difficulty for this little problem.
I place my object on a line :it's okey, on a curve :it's okey. But on a line and a curve i can't.
How to select the line and the curve in constraint ?????
(I already test the touch "ctrl" it's not good ...)
Nobody can help me ???
Maybe you could post a picture of what you've got, we are on an older version of inventor so I can not open your files. I will include a little experiment I did to play around with the train problem.
You could search for "chain" or maybe "conveyor" there are several discussions about moving these sorts of things around paths with straight and curved segments.
I did a conveyor example a couple of years ago.
I just opened it up, I actually have two. One is an assembly of a static belt and slats that move along it, and the other is an adaptive part where the slats are driven along in the assembly. (For some reason when I try to drive either of them I get a "cannot solve at (or near) this point" but if I click okay and try again it works. Maybe we came up with some way to deal with that in the thread I made them for.)
It's okey i finally find !!!!
smile 🙂 !!
It's stupid but i make it:
1/ Create a extraction (of a block) of surface who have the path you like ...
2/ Make a transition ( and not a tangent !!! )
3/ Make your move
