Hi,
I have a couple of questions regarding attached part.I`ve tried a few different techniques but it is still not quite correct.
1. Loft-1 & Loft-2 are not smooth flowing. The blue lin represents the shape i would like to achieve.
2. Is it possible to remove the join lines between Loft-1 & Loft-2 plus Revolution-2 where they all join?
3. I tried to model Loft-1 & Loft-2 as 1 Loft instead of 2 separate lofts but the shape again was not correct.
Before i go ahead and spend time would this shape be more suited to surfaces which would not show join lines
If i was able to get the 2 Lofts to follow the shape of the blue line then the part would be fine.
Thanks

I haven't got Inventor at the moment so can't open your part.
I'm not great on lofts but if you are not doing so already it may be possible to use the blue line as a rail in the loft.
There are a lot of settings in the loft function, selecting certain points can alter the shape, weight and condition settings can do the same.
Can't say if it will work but may be worth a try.
Have look below you may find something to get what you want.
Hi ijc,
Dennis Jeffrey wrote a great instructional on creating a volute that might help. See the PDF listed at this link for his time tested approach:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

I changed the Loft-3 as you suggested from a centreline to Rails and that worked much better. My only other problem is that Loft-1seems not to be centred in relation to revolution-2 . It is slightly off-centred with 1 side with a indentation and the shape is oval and not round.Could the problem be due to sketch-10 not being in line with sketch-7 causing the problem?
