Hi johnhoyle,

I notcied someone mentioned Office 2010 Starter/Excel 2010Starter. This link might help:

http://beinginventive.typepad.com/being-inventive/2011/12/excel-starter-and-inventor.html

It that isn't the issue, I'd suggest starting a new thread on the Inventor Installation forum:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/bd-p/24

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

I tried the script but that didn't work.

But I found something that worked for me.

Just have the excel document open when you try to link it.
