linear patterns with iMated components

I'm working with release 10 and it will not allow me to create patterns in assemblies with components that have iMates on them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Tony,
I could not some how get it to reproduce from my side. I have
a component in an assembly and attached iMates to it and I could create the
component (Rectangular) Pattern from it with no issues.

Am I missing anything here? Can you please attach a dataset that shows this
issue or provide more detailed information?
