Some clarification regarding lifting analysis is required.
A simple steel frame has been modeled with one lifting eye at each end ,the centre of gravity is central to the single point lift.
Knowing the weight of the frame and the geometry of the lift rope one can work out the force on the lifting eyes and the force direction to create a vector diagram.
When analysing the frame this information can be entered and the force on each lug added together with its angle.
The question is this ! Does inventor automatically add the frame weight into the analysis in which case the forces would then be the frame weight plus the vector forces or is there a toggle to omit the frame weight.
Any suggestions.

Hi
If i remember Inventor does not add automaticly the body weight but use body load feature in the load tab

Use Gravity.

Hi JD
the op is not on the simulation environment
In the fea environment the tool to simulate the gravity is body load
Everywhere I look?
