LAST CHANCE - Inventor NG World Cup - January 2004

JANUARY CHALLENGE

Welcome to the new season of the IvNGWC challenge...

The scoreboard is reset and we're off to a fresh start, so don't hesitate to
join up from the get go...

The deadline for this month's challenge is January 20th 2004.

You will get points on the scoreboard just for trying, and zero points for
not letting me know you've tried thus giving you a zero on the scoreboard
which in the end of the season will affect your point average.

The January contest drawing can be found in Inventor Customer Files (iCF),
Subject: "Inventor NG World Cup - January04" dated January 2. 2004.

NOTE: Due to the 1MB file size limit in the webbased iCF a new World Cup
download site has been made (thanks to Dennis Jeffrey) for those with
restricted access to the NTTP iCF.

RULES:

Setup note: The drawing is metric and in first angle projection.

Follow these simple rules:
1 - Print the drawing and don't look at them.
2 - Setup your environment (millimeters) and start a new sketch.
3 - Place the drawing face down, start the clock, flip the drawing over and model it as fast as possible ending up with a model with the correct volume at the Accuracy setting 'Very High' of the model as indicated on the drawing sheet.

#1 priority: Correct volume of the model with the Physical Properties Accuracy setting 'Very High'.
#2 priority: Fastest time.

Let me know how fast you can model it on the first attempt (don't cheat - it's no satisfaction to be the fastest when you know you've cheated.
Everybody can cut at least 50% of the time on the second attempt).

Email your resulting time directly to me (to keep it a secret) along with your model and comments (ph@ambu.com).

NOTE: Please follow these guidelines before posting files to me directly:
1 - Pull the End of Part marker up below the Origin folder in the Browser tree.
2 - Use Winzip (www.winzip.com) to compact the file.

I'll report back with the results and the scoreboard when the 'contest' is over.

Happy Inventing,
