Jig & Fixture Design for Inventor

There is a new technology preview available on Autodesk Labs.

http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/inventor_jigs_fixtures/overview/

We would appreciate it if you would try it and provide some feedback.

Hello!

Currently there is not a way to completely download the assets library to establish a local library. This is something that we are evaluating from users' feedback.

Hi Scott,

Any chance of this being compatible with Inventor 2011?

Thanks,

Guy

Guys,

There are some aspects of the UI that Jig & Fixture Design Tech Preview uses which are not available in Inventor 2011.  As such, there is currently no plan to back port the Jig & Fixture Design add-in to Inventor 2011.  Sorry.

Nice if you could include Rayco CMM fixture components.

Thanks for the suggestion, John.

BTW, don't know if you realized it or not, but the Jig & Fixture Design Tech Preview does include authoring tools. If Rayco has digital models that can be read into Inventor, you could use the Jig & Fixture authoring tools to augment their models to be used within Jig & Fixture Design.

Thanks again,

Thanks for the info, I have most of the components we use modeled already.

John,

That's great that you have most of the components you use already modeled.  You're most of the way done!  It should be fairly straight forward using the Authoring Tool to augment your existing models so that they can be used in the Jig & Fixture Design Tech Preview.

Let me know if you try this and how it works for you!

thanks,

I like a lot this labs!

I've a little bugs to explain...I can't make the final selection to constrain completely the object.

I'm using Inventor 2012 Professional with SP1 on win 7 x64 OS.

Thanks

Hello, Claudio.

I'm the Product Manager for the Jig & Fixture Tech Preview. We would greatly appreciate it if you could provide additional information regarding the bug you reported.  Can you provide model files and step-by-step workflow to duplicate the problem?

thanks in advance,

Autodesk Labs tech previews are time-limited.  This one is three years old, so it's likely long since expired.

I know that. I just hope to find this one somewhere. I could really use the fixtures in Inventor HSM. Otherwise I have to design everything myself

It would be nice to have - I use HSM quite a lot myself - but it's expired.  Even if you found the installer files for it somewhere, you wouldn't be able to install it anymore.

All of the Autodesk Labs technology preveiws have built-in time bombs, so no one confuses them with perpertual functionality. Even if you found the old installer, the code would not run. Sorry.
