Not sure if you are still going to provide the example in Sheet Metal you mentioned....just let me know if you do not have time and i will cease asking as i would presume your busy

I will try to get to it today - kind of surprised that someone else didn't jump in here and show a solution as this one is easy.

 

Did you try the Help with Rolled Contour and Unfold/Refold?

Here's an example of one side. I made up the dimensions, but you can follow the workflow to make your own piece.

Milke already posted solution same as what I would do.

 

Actually I suggested Unfold/Refold because I was not aware that Inventor would Project Flat Pattern with a Roll Contour (never tried it, but I was thinking about it with your problem, so hopefully I would have discovered the same solution). Smiley Surprised

 

Either way will work.  I prefer Mike's solution when it will work rather than Unfold/Refold.

 

The key to Project Flat Pattern is you must start your sketch on a planar face rather than a workplane.

Then select the extants you want to project.
