IV7 plotting.

I am new to IV and see it only plots through windows system printer. Is this just as good as the *.pc3 plot driver in normal autocad.
What is the best arrangement for the plotter, direct on workstation or via network.
plotter is ENCAD Cadjet2 A0 or E Size roll fed + cutter.20MB RAM in plotter.

The way you are currently plotting in AutoCAD using network or
workstation will work.

The .PC3 adds pen settings and other AutoCAD specific settings to the
existing windows driver or to a specific AutoCAD only driver.

You will have to use the Encad or compatible Windows System Printer
driver to plot from Inventor. The PC3 only applies to AutoCAd vased
products.

Plotting in Windows:

Inventor is a windows application.  It does
not have hardware drivers embedded in it.  It does not talk directly to
hardware.  Instead it goes through Windows.  I have tested ANSI F size
plots on our HP roll feed plotter. If the plotter and windows can handle the
plot, Inventor can.  It is possible, that if you try to print a solid
object in a drawing that is 20 feet long, you might exceed some limits in the
plotter driver. This operation (called rasterization) takes a lot of
memory.
