IV6 to Max 5

Can one user with only 3DStudio Max, no IV, open IV files?

I would imagine if you copy the \Inventor 6\Bin folder onto that machine and
configure the plug in paths in Max it would work. I don't know how this would
work with respect to your End User License Agreement, it may be in violation of
your license.

I wouldn't recommend doing this unless someone can guarantee the legality of it.

Thanx.
I will try it and hopefully someone will respond to how legal this is.
Perhaps Autodesk could do this.

I can't comment on legal issues... but you don't
need the entire Inventor \bin\ folder, only a few specific plugin
files. These files are available on the Autodesk Support Downloads
page.

I can't comment on the legal issues either,
however, I can say that the Plug-In is designed to run on a computer that
has Inventor fully installed.  This Plug-In depends on many of the Inventor
DLL files that are in the Inventor bin directory.
