IV6 is the slowest...

Group,
I did some testing to compare the graphic speed of various CAD programs,
using the 8000cubes assembly and would like to bring the results to
everybodies attention.
The PC is a Dell 2.53GHz, with a Quadro4 900XGL. To get the frame rates I
used either the post statistics or a utility called FRAPS1.9.

shaded mode:
UGS18 62Hz
MDT6 8Hz
MDT5 7 Hz
IV4 4.33Hz
SW2001 4Hz
IV5.3 3.3Hz
IV6 2.7Hz

3d wireframe mode:
UGS18 72Hz
MDT6 24Hz
MDT5 22Hz
SW2001 3Hz
IV6 2.9Hz

Note: The 2d wireframe of MDT mode is very, very much faster, as has been
good old MDT3.01 in shaded/wireframe mode.
Definitely IV6 is by far the slowest package.

Regards,

Just guessing, but it might be that for an arrayed feature the results of a
calc for a single feature (cube) is being copied and for the assembly each
part is being calc'd individually (or something like that).

The only reason I can think of why IV rotates a 8000 feature part more than
10 times faster than a 8000 parts assembly ..................
