IV6 & Windows XP (GET XP SERIVCE PACK 1)

I was experiencing an assortment of issues (a nice way of saying I was crashing a lot) with IV6 after upgrading from 5.3. I was/am running Windows XP 2002 for both IV5.3 and IV6 and never experienced any significant problems when running IV5.3

My VAR finally got through to the right person at Autodesk who said that I need to install Windows XP Service Pack 1. The service pack is available for download from Microsoft.

It seems to have worked, but I need to give it few days before I pronounce a cure. I'm sure that there are some bugs lurking that I haven't discovered - Hopefully they will be addressed by IV6 SP1.

Cheers!
Rick

I upgraded to SP1 for XP and still am having crash
problems 5-10 per day....killed Norton and still have 2 or so per day...I am
wondering if I should reinstall IV6 now that I have installed SP1 for XP. Anyone
have any comments on the likelihood that IV needs a reinstall?

My VAR said that I may want to uninstall / reinstall IV6 as part of the Windows XP SP1 upgrade. I have not done that yet. I don't want to change too many variables all at once so I know what fixed the problem. If you do reinstall, let me know how it worked.

I have had the Win XP service pack installed and
reinstalled IV6 and I still crash 5-10 times per day! Nothing works for me. I
have stopped all programs running in the background, stopped my auto update,
etc. and to no avail. Might work for you, who knows?
