IV2012 Weldment Machining in an IDW

I have a user that is trying to show some of the machining he has defined in a Welment iam.

The views work fine as long as the machining exists when you originally place the views.

You can toggle the voew between showing the prep, weld, or machining.

However, if after the views in the idw are developed, and you go back and add some machining, we can not seem to make the already define views in the idw pick up this new machining.

If we place new views the machining shows up.

Hi tahdesign,

Could it be that the view is not set to be Associative?

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Thanks first I did not think that was the case because the view I was looking at was associative.

However, in looking at the file more closing I found that the user actual placed a view from a copy of the weldment that was not updating.

I guess he had tried several ways to get what he wanted done and forgot that he did that.

All good now.

Thanks
