IV to VIZ Please

Sorry to be a nag but has anyone got it to work at all yet? I just really
need a solution soon before i uninstall IV7 and reinstall IV6. That would be
embarrassing. I just have some renders i NEED to get done and i can't import
anything.

Thanx Jesse

You can import correctly or you cant import at all? I have it working in Max

I can't import at all. I get that error when viz starts up and then it is
not in the pull down of "insert other" in Viz 3i.

Inv 7 ships only with Import plugins for Max/Viz 4 and Max 5. I did not see
the Max/Viz 3 plugins inside the 3dsmax3 folder under the Bin folder, like
previous releases had. I may be incorrect, but I m willing to bet that 7
marks the end of Max/Viz 3 support. Autodesk should confirm this.

The error you get is Viz stating unsupported dll etc etc. Viz 3 and 4 dlls
are not interchangable.

Heres another solution.

Save the model out as a SAT and import it into AutoCad. Then save as a DWG.
and import the dwg.
You can also save the model as a STP and import it into MDT. I Found the
dwg link feature in Viz4 crashes when using it to MDT so i have not been
lucky with it. If you are only have access to Viz 3 you will probably need
to use import features.
