IV 7 installation problem

OK... we thought it would be easy this time. Every time we have tried to install our networked versions of Inventor, we have spent days getting it to work. This time we are trying to upgrade from IV6 to IV7. Should be simple, right? We installed IV7 on to the users computer, ran throught the registration process, got the information back from autodesk, and replaced the information in our current .lic file with the information provided from Autodesk. Lo and behold, IV 7 won't run, and gives us the "unable to get valid license" error. We have tried replacing the IV 6 license file with the new one, we have tried appending the information into the old file, etc. We can still run IV6 by restoring the old license file, but, as usual, we are spending an enormous amount of time trying to get IV7 to work. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Is your FlexLM version up-to-date on the
server?

Our understanding from the IV documentation was that all we had to do was append the existing license file. We did not re-install the license manager software. We could try that.

Thanks

I have run into this problem too. In my experience
you will have to install the new manager and combine the license
files.
