I am facing an issue in Autodesk Inventor.
The counterbore hole option in the hole feature has the tap depth from the top surface.
We have to always add the counterbore depth to the tap depth. For example, (counterbore depth + tap depth).
If we use the spot face hole option. We don't get the counterbore depth in hole notes in the drawing. The depth of the counterbore has to be typed manually in the hole notes.
Please see the attached image and advice.

I'm thinking this is how your Styles are set up. There are about 40 odd settings for all of the different hole/thread/counterbore/etc... combinations the HOLE command can make. You can set them up how you want.
The FIRST example in the diagram in the previous post is the correct method of indicating a counter bored hole ie THREAD DIAMETER & Pitch NUMBER OF THREADS OF A TAPED HOLE or DIAMETER OF A PLAIN HOLE- OVERALL DEPTH OF TAPED/ PLAIN HOLE then the DIAMETER OF THE COUNTER BORE - DEPTH OF COUNTER BORE from the face from which the hole was drilled as this is considered the datum plane/point.
