Isolate function not avialable depending on selection thod

Hi,

I had just found out that "isolate" function in context menu is available or not depending on selection method I use for selecting desired parts.

1) if I select parts by picking them in model window than it works OK

2) if I select some parts by picking them in model window and some other parts by selecting them in tree view - isolate is available but only parts selected in model view ale isolated

3) if I select only one part in tree view - isolate is available and it isolates this part

4) if I select more than one part in tree view - isolate function is not available.

Isn't this consistent behaviour a little strange? If part or parts are selected it should not be important what was selection method.

Cris.

Which version of Inventor are you using? Do you have the latest Service Packs and Updates installed?

Thanks,

Hi,

Curently I am using latest SP1 and Update 2 for AI 2015.

I had done some checking and found out that this issue is not present or not entirly present in all parts of AI.

Originally I had run on to this problem using stress analysis environment.

Recently I tried this in generic Inventor modeling environment and it seems to work better there.

So maybe it is like this that selection is not handled properly in stress analysis environment, and perhaps in other environments.

Perhaps it is related to the active selection filter/selection priority? I imagine that these would change based upon what environment is active.

Thanks,
