Ising Rules and iAssembly together

I'm making an assembly and it requires rules and iparts/iassembly. The issue I'm having is when I using the iAssembly it changes the name of a part (ex. "TEST:1" into "TEST1:1". When that changes the Rules loses it because of it having a different name... How can I get around this?

Thanks,
Aaron Schlaack

Not sure how, since this syntax is the occurrence of the part within the IAM file. If you had place 10 of the same file Inventor needs to identify each item, hence the unique identifier add to the end of each part. The 10th same part would have a :10 identifier

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Hi ASchlaack,

I might not be recalling correctly, but I think the generally suggested method is to "Stabilize" the iAssembly member names. See these links, and/or search the forum for "ilogic stabilize" or "ilogic stabilized", etc.

I hope this helps.
