Yes, that card is pretty close to the best you can get today. The only
faster model is the Quadro 900 XGL, and of course the 8x AGP (AGP 3.0)
Quadro cards. I checked into the specs of AGP 3.0 and it seems that the
standard is being developed with CAD/CAM designers in mind, instead of
gamers.

Unfortunately you need a new motherboard that supports AGP 3.0 to run a 8x
AGP vid card. An excellent one is the Asus A7N8x for the AMD (with nForce
Twin Banks, 400 Mhz FSB) and the Asus P4G8x for the Intel (Hyperthreaded,
533 Mhz FSB)
