Is there a better way of making this?

I've attached a link to an file of a model I just spent the last couple of -hours- modeling. Even though I've been using Inventor for a year now, if not more, I haven't doven much into it's secrets. So my question is, how could I have modeled this easily? I could have done it on solidworks in a matter of seconds using the sweep command with a rotation along a circular path, but seeing as inventor doesn't have this function, I was reduced to using the closed loft command, connecting 32 individual sketches together. Let's just say it took forever. Please tell me there's a faster way of modeling this?

Is this the same problem referred to in this thread?

It would be more instructive if you could attach the origninal *.sldprt file here so that I could demonstrate the equivalent Inventor technique.

In the Inventor file you attached here it looks like wayyyyyyyyyyy too much work.

Your first 3 sketches aren't constrained.  This would be considered poor technique in  SolidWorks or Inventor.

Sketch2 is a circle placed at the origin that isn't even constrained to the origin.  This should be automatic.

You might want to take a look at this document
