IS INVENTOR REALLY USEFUL??

Is it just me or is Inventor a house of cards? The system works well for me until I make an assembly, then when I want to change or replace a part I lose the constraints and the house of cards crumbles and all is to do again. I've taken a class, I have three big fat books on Inventor and still I cannot see how this system is useful to make assemblies. Is this a common problem?

Thanks Kent,

I will start using it today.

That you (and others) are so willing to step up to the plate to solve issues & gaps in the software and then share your efforts at no cost & so graciously is a godsend to those of us less able. I for one really appreciate it.

Kent,

I'll have to join in the accolades with the bittersweet quandry that I'm not
capable of using it yet. This weekend I am building a new workstation, so I
am hoping to multi-task and run a trial migration at the same time. But I am
notoriously one track minded.

My wife said something last night that is terribly apropros: Men are like
DOS, women are like Windows.

I am a little hesitant to put this out there, since I am not really happy
with it, and I know it needs some work. Unfortunately I underestimated the
amount of time it would take me, and as is often the case it has been taking
a lot more than I expected. I still hope to improve it and fix any bugs
that may be found, but no guarantees on how quickly I might be able to get
to them.

Anyhow you can find a link to KWiKPlaneConstrain on my Front Page
www.kwikmcad.com. Consider it Pre Beta code. ;~/ Also, when writing
things like this my test cases are usually very basic, so if I missed
something basic or not so basic, feel free to contact me
