Hello I'm having trouble making a DWG or DXF file from a IPT file. I use Autodesk Inventer Professional 2011. I'll give you a run down as to what I do to......
Once my part is designed in Inventor I do:
-Save as
-save copy as
-and I go to click on DWG or DXF but I do not have that listing.
Ive attached a screenshot. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hello: I wish to save my 2D drawing as a DXF in inventor.
Currently, I save it as a DWG in inventor as you said above and then converted it in AUTOCAD to a DXF. I will continue to do this unless it's an option in inventor.
Thanks
John
Simply Save Copy as type dxf.
or
if the part is flat you don't even need a 2d drawing. Simply click on the face and select Export to dxf.
