iPart key choices

Is there any way to have the choice upon inserting an iPart to either choose
the part number or to go through a series of defining keys to arrive at the
same part? basically for each line in the table, the P/n is unique. I could
make my Part Number field the last defining key, but that creates an extra
(unnecessary) level in the browser tree to choose when changing components.

If you were to make the part# the first (and only key) that's the only
choice you'd get. Are you just trying to choose by the part#?

I'd like to have the option to choose either by p/n or the group of keys
that would get you to the same part.

Ah, then you are in a pickle.

As per your suggestion, you'll need to provide all of the dimensional keys
(width, length, bore etc..) then a part# as the last key.
