ipart formula

Hi I am reletivly new to inventor
I have created an ipart Factory Which is a flat plate with slots along its length
The gap between the slot is always constant as is the distance before the slot starts.
I wish to create parts of different lengths but dont want the slot to exceed 600mm so if the plate is more than 1600 mm long the number of slots increase.
Is it possible.
Basic sketch attached
Thanks James

Hi James,

I answered a similar question a few days ago. Check my third reply to
"Transitioning from 2d to 3d" on 2-2-10. It might be helpful.

Thanks walt.
I have been experimenting with imputing a formula in to the rectangular pattern.
I cant open the part from your other post, I get the error "Database schema is newer than this version of the software." . I am on 2009 educational version so there may be a compatibility issue.
Can you use the same type of formula as in excel.
If it is possible I will crack it.

Thanks again

I'm running 2010, and Inventor files aren't backwards compatible, so you
won't be able to open the file. Here's a screen capture that shows the way
the part was set up. Not all of Excel's formulas are available in the
parameters dialog. Look up "equations, edit box entry" in the help files to
find out what's available in Inventor.

Cheers,
Walt
