Just started using Inventor, so still picking up the basics!!
What is the best way to create a basic box section frame?
would I create a 3d sketch and then insert a frame around the sketch (I've tried this and can't get the lines on the sketch to sit 90 deg. to one another), or would it be better to create several 2d sketches on different planes and then constrain them together?
Regards Justin.

If your using Frame Generator within Inventor, Check out this guy's youTube Videos, they are pretty good and easy to follow for beginners.
Watch all the chapters he posted. You should be able to learn what you need from these:
Chapter One - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGuUrMigdmI
Chapter Two- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1LaPODFXSo

Rob Cohee has other videos that help with other topics, worthwhile watching them,
Good Luck!
Like Sean said I would look into the frame generator. I would also look into the tutorials provided with the software as well as the youtube links that have been provided. Youtube is also a great tool to learn other areas of Inventor.
